Monograph Hosting Service

For Editorial Teams

Have you identified a potential opportunity for your research group or wider community of practice to publish a monograph series (including single authored works, edited works or collected essays) in an emerging or specialist subject or research area? Contact an Open Scholarship Services specialist at open.scholarship.services@queensu.ca to discuss your new publication.

Get Started

Things to consider before you establish your new monograph series:

  • Standards in professional publishing: Review the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association), to ensure your planned publication(s) meet professional standards.
  • Aim of the monograph series: Outline the focus, scope and target audience.
  • Resources needed (staff, time, and funds): Consider the ongoing staff resource needed: e.g. editorial board; reviewers; copyeditors; layout editors; time commitments and any funds etc. The Library can provide guidance in this area.

The Library will support you in all aspects of your publication set-up, management and ongoing promotion and maintenance, including:
