The database includes primary source documents, sound recordings, an image gallery, a 3D object gallery and interactive site plans. Specially commissioned essays provide contextual support and focus on some of the key research themes surrounding world's fairs. Twelve fairs have been selected to serve as case studies, including the 1851 London Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nation; the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle, the 1939/40 New York World’s Fair, the 1967 Montreal Expo ’67 and the Milan Expo 2015.
