Video Streaming

Teacher Candidates have access to many video-streaming collections. Some are password-protected for use by the Faculty of Education only. Others are licensed for the entire Queen's campus. All passwords for Teacher Candidates and Concurrent Education Students are an encrypted Passwords file. The password to open this file was distributed via the TC list. For help, ask at the library, email education.library@queensu.ca, or call 613 533-2191.

* A multimedia resource package that includes 8,300 videos, video clips, audio files, speeches, images, newsreels, & articles from Encyclopedia Britannica.
* Licensed by Ontario’s Ministry of Education (via OSAPAC) for publicly-funded schools, First Nations schools using the Ontario curriculum, and Ontario Faculties of Education. You should see this in use on your practica.
Open the menu (3 bars top left) select 6-12, perform any search, find the all subjects dropdown, and select World Languages.

Reproducible exercises for students learning English and French as a second language.
The DVD includes the text in both French and English. A teacher's guide is also included on the DVD, as is a segment titled "How Big?" which presents a painting of indeterminate size. After a few seconds a person walks in front of the painting, allowing the viewer to understand the size of the painting in relation to the person.

Mango

To use the Mango program you need a Kingston Frontenac Public Library card. It's an interactive program with online language lessons. Choose from 71 languages.

Visit kfpl.ca and search under their digital collections. You can create an account to track your progress.
