A note about obtaining materials not found at Queen's Library...
Queen's Library has a free interlibrary loan system (RACER). It can be used to borrow print books, or order copies of articles. For MEERL students, the print book borrowing option is NOT available - we cannot mail print books to you, and licensing agreements generally forbid the use of ebooks for interlibrary loan. However, most articles are sent electronically: therefore, you may use this service to order copies of articles. They should be sent electronically to your Queen's email account.
To use RACER, you may log directly into the system.
- User ID = the 14-digit barcode on your Queen's card.
- Password = your last name (all lowercase)
- Library = Queen's
Fill out a blank request form with the article's citation information and submit the form.
NOTE: If you do not already have a Queen's student card, contact student.card@queensu.ca to obtain an off-campus student card.
Alternatively, if you are using the GetIt@Queen's link from Google Scholar or a library database and you encounter a screen like the one below, click on Request via Interlibrary Loan (RACER). A form filled with the article's citation information will be generated, and you will be asked to enter your user ID and password.
