Before you start your search, keep in mind that over the years various names have been used to refer to Indigenous Peoples in Canada and other Indigenous groups around the world.
Any of the following terms could be used in your search: Indigenous, Aboriginal, First Nations, Native peoples and nation name, e.g. Cree..
More commonly in use now is the term Indigenous. In Canada, Indigenous Peoples collectively refers to First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Subject headings allow you to search for resources on a particular author or topic and are often more productive than keyword searches.
Keyword searches work best if you have multiple concepts or topics. Think of the words that best describe your topic and then connect them with the boolean operators AND OR NOT.
