An engineering handbook is a reference book containing factual information such as definitions, formulas, physical constants, chemical properties, materials properties, and so on. Most handbooks cover a specific technology or field of engineering.
Handbooks are updated by teams of experts from industry and academia. Some handbooks have been continuously updated for more than 100 years. For example, Marks' Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers (right) was first published in 1916.
