GDipICL: Library Resources

This guide was designed as an introduction to library resources for students in the Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law.

Online Resources

There are many online resources available to you through the Queen's Library. CanLII, Westlaw, and Lexis are several of the major sources of online legal information that will be introduced in your program. But Queen's students also have access to much more outside of these platforms, including a large suite of legal databases.

Omni

Omni is an academic search tool that allows you to search and retrieve resources from across our Library collection, as well as from other Ontario libraries.

Use the Advanced Search Form to conduct a search across all resources.

Once you've conducted a search, you can limit to "available online" using the post-search filters. You can also use these filters to limit by date, resource type, and subject, among other criteria.

If you find a resource in omni that is not available online, there may still be a way for you to access it. See "Requesting Print Resources" for more information on the available options for distance students.
