Film & Video at QUL

The multimedia collection at Queen's University Library contains DVDs, VHS tapes and streaming videos. The Library also has  subscriptions to several online video collections. 

Finding Films in the Library Catalogue

To search for films in the library catalogue, go to the Library's homepage and click on QCAT. Try these search strategies.

Keyword Search

  • Type in the search term(s) you want to find in the Search box and search within Keyword or Keyword Boolean.
  • In the Limit to drop-down menu, select Videos/DVDs/Streaming Video

Title Search

  • Choose title keyword from drop-down menu and enter title
  • In the Limit to drop down menu, select Videos/DVDs/Streaming Video

Director Search

  • Go to the Advanced Search screen and enter name of director, etc. associated with film.
  • Choose Author Keyword from the drop down menu.
  • Limit to Format: Videorecording (DVD/VHS/Streamed)

Licensed Streaming Videos

An online digital delivery feature film system.
Curio Canadian resource
Access to the best in educational content from CBC and Radio-Canada.
A database of documentaries, educational videos and news footage but not movies.
National Film Board of Canada Canadian resource
Access to documentaries, animation and alternative dramas, NFB playlists, upcoming films and related resources.

Free Streaming Video Sites

Contains thousands of digital movies ranging from classic full-length  to cartoons and concerts.
Streams thousands of popular TV shows.
Top Documentary
Offers free streaming access to documentaries.
