GDipICL: Library Resources

This guide was designed as an introduction to library resources for students in the Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law.

Course Reserves

Some of the readings in GDipICL courses are provided via the Library's online course reserves system. This allows us to ensure copyright and licensing compliance for certain types of resources such as book chapters and streaming video. These resources will all be linked from within course content in onQ, but it is helpful to know what they look like in case you encounter technical difficulties with the platform.

Below is an example of what a resource in course reserves will look like. Note the Queen's University Library logo in the upper left corner. If you have trouble accessing a resource that is located on this system, the most efficient way to resolve the problem is by emailing the Course Reserves team

Note: When you first access the Course Reserves system, you may be prompted to complete a short walkthrough of the platform. Continue to click through until you are able to access the resource you are looking for.

In some instances, the course reserves system will provide multiple options for viewing the resource. See, e.g. below. This feature is designed to provide alternatives if one of the links in the system unexpectedly breaks. You can also use the option to "Mark as broken" if you are unable to use a link, which helps us resolve any access issues.
