Using Omni

Omni is the library's easy-to-use academic search tool that provides you access to all of the resources in the Queen's University Library.
Queen's University Library is partnered with other academic libraries in Ontario to share access to resources right in Omni.

Highlights include options to:

  • Find books, ebooks, articles, chapters, documents, videos, and more.
  • Discover and access collections at Queen's, all 18 Ontario partner institutions, and beyond.
  • Request materials beyond Queen's as you discover them.
  • Pin and tag materials in your favourites file for easy retrieval.
  • Cite, email, and export to a citation tool to manage your information.

For tips on searching Omni, including basic search and using more advanced features, check out our Omni Searching guide!

Off-Campus Access

To access Queen's University Library content from off campus, you need to use the web proxy, which will automatically prompt you to login using your Queen's NetID and password.

Check out our off-campus access webpage for more information about accessing materials off campus.

Note: When logging in with your NetID and password, do not include "@queensu.ca"

Troubleshooting

Finding your Queen's NetID

Your NetID should be listed in your acceptance letter. If you cannot locate your NetID, reach out to the library Ask Us service or submit a ticket to Queen's IT services.

Database or e-Resource not Working

If an online resource is not working, try:
   1. Using a different browser.
   2. Clearing your browse cache and cookies.
   3. Updating your browser to the latest version.
   4. Using an incognito window.
If these steps do not fix the problem, it may be the result of an account or vendor issue. Please contact us and include any information that may be helpful.
