Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University. His research focuses on the following:

  • psychopharmacological and neurostimulation treatments
  • identifying biomarkers of treatment response in depression as part of the CAN-BIND integrated discovery program
  • microbiome manipulation for treatment of mood and anxiety disorders
  • psychiatric stigma and sleep architecture as factors in influencing diagnosis and recovery

Dr. Yuliya Knyahnytska
Head, Interventional Psychiatry Department (Providence Care)

Assistant Professor, Faculty of Medicine (Queen’s University)
Collaborator Scientist (CAMH)

Dr. Knyahnytska has developed her expertise in treatment-resistant mood disorders through comprehensive training by completing two clinical fellowships (CAMH, Toronto), PhD with the University of Toronto, and her extensive involvement in multiple clinical trials with focus on innovative novel interventions. Her research focuses on the following:

  • treatment-resistant mood disorders – including clinical assessment and novel therapeutic approaches
  • interventional psychiatry, specifically brain stimulation interventions (ECT, MST, TMS, tDCS, PBM, etc), and ketamine
  • implementation science – including enhancing access to care through clinical trials to improve quality of life for marginalized and hard-to-treat populations
