If you already have a SciFinder account, you can use it to access SciFinder. You don't need to register a new account.
If you don't have a SciFinder account, you must register as a “new user,” after which you will be prompted to login with your user name and password. When you begin the registration process, you will be asked to create a user name and password, as well as a security question and answer. Please note that when registering you must use your first name, last name, and your Queen's e-mail address. Once you have registered, you will receive an e-mail containing a confirmation link. Click the link to confirm your account, and then you are ready to search!

Q: I have a SciFindern account but I can't login.
A: CAS disables SciFindern accounts that are not used for 12 months or more. This is a cybersecurity measure. Accounts may be reinstated by contacting the CAS Help Desk (see below).
Q: I can login to SciFindern but it doesn't display in my browser.
A: Clear your browser's cache (history) or try accessing SciFindern from an incognito (private) browser window. Caches can interfere with SciFindern.
Q: I already have a SciFinder account. Do I have to register for a SciFindern account?
A: No. If you already have a SciFinder account registered with your Queen's e-mail address, you do not need to create a new account.
Q: Can I register for a SciFindern account with another e-mail address?
A: No. You must register using your Queen's e-mail address. CAS controls access to SciFindern via e-mail and IP domain.
Q: I already have a SciFindern account associated with my previous university. Can I just use that one?
A: No. SciFindern accounts are not portable between universities. You will need to register a new SciFindern account using your Queen's e-mail address.
Q: Can I have multiple SciFindern accounts?
A: No. A SciFindern user can only have a single account linked to their Queen's e-mail address.
Q: I can't remember my password!
A: The Library does not have access to account passwords. Please visit https://scifinder.cas.org/password, enter your user name or e-mail address in the form, and answer your security question. Your password will be reset, and you will receive instructions on how to proceed in an e-mail.
Q: Help! The answer to my security question doesn't work. What do I do?
A: The CAS Help Desk will be able to help you. Please contact CAS at https://www.cas.org/contact.
