<odesi> provides access to data from a variety of sources, including some Statistics Canada data related to courts, crime and justice. While the most recent statistics are normally available via CANSIM, some historical tables are only available via <odesi>.
For example, for the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (UCR), there are tables with recent aggregate data available via CANSIM, while <odesi> has some tables with information stretching back to the 1970s.
