Copyright Information for Faculty

Prepared by the Copyright Advisory Office at Queen's University, this guide provides copyright information that will be useful to to anyone involved in teaching in the classroom or online, curriculum development, and the construction of course sites.

Welcome

Located in Stauffer Library (014A) and working closely with Queen's University Legal Counsel, the Copyright Advisory Office is dedicated to educating, supporting, and engaging Queen's faculty, students, researchers, and staff in matters pertaining to copyright, access to knowledge and content, learning, teaching, conducting and disseminating research, and administrative operations.

Queen's University's Copyright Policy

The Copyright Compliance and Administration Policy outlines Queen's University's position with respect to the acceptable and responsible use of copyright-protected material and works; the responsibilities of members of the university community who use copyright-protected material and works; and provides a framework for responsible practices with respect to the use of copyright-protected material and works and the prevention of copyright infringement. This policy is accompanied by Appendix A: Fair Dealing Requirements for Educational Copying.
