Finding Books

Omni is the Queen’s Library academic search tool that enables you to search for books, journals, articles, videos and much more, all from one interface. Omni enables you to search different scopes of information collections: locally at Queen's and consortially with our 17 other Ontario university partner libraries (which is the default search scope in Omni).

Use the facets available within Omni to refine your search results to print books or electronic books, for example, or to book chapters. 

E-Book Collections

Many individual electronic books are available within ebook collections.  Most collections have individual book records in Omni, but you can also search the collections directly.

    a born-digital scholar-led open access publisher in linguistics. Includes new works as well as classic works that have been republished as Open Access.

Books not at Queen's Library

Requesting materials from within Omni
You can request print monographs from our 17 Omni partner libraries from within Omni, and they will be delivered to Queen’s library for pick-up. Articles and book chapters can also be requested, and they will be delivered to your Queen’s email.

Interlibrary loans 
If you have searched Omni and you can’t find what you need, you can request material from other institutions through interlibrary loan. Loan periods are set by the owning library (typically range from 3 to 6 weeks).

WorldCat
The combined online catalogues of tens of thousands of libraries around the world. You can request books in WorldCat that are not held by Queen's Library by using our interlibrary loan service,
