Canadian Publisher: Orca Books

Orca Book Publishers

Based out of Victoria, British Columbia, is one of Canada's most successful and most popular book publishers for children's and young adult books. Orca is a publisher that Canadian teachers turn to for high quality fiction and non-fiction for K to 12 and we recommend that you drop in to their web site often to browse their latest titles.

Orca's outstanding offerings of Indigenous-authored titles, French titles, their Footprints Series of non-fiction titles focused on climate change, and especially their hi-lo series make this publisher an excellent source for Canadian content for your classroom.  Our Education Library provides you with print copies of most Orca publications and now during the pandemic we have purchased selected titles as ebooks so you can still become familiar with the classroom resources from this premiere Canadian educational publisher.

Orca Hi-Lo Series

Orca's Hi-Lo Series are available in print as Express Reads  in the Library's Children's & Young Adults Collection.

In addition to the print editions we have purchased access to selected ebooks in each series so you can get a sense of the content available for use with your English language learners.

Digital collections of these Hi-Lo series are available for purchase by schools, so we have purchased unlimited simultaneous access to selected titles from the following collections for you:
