Dictionary of Ulster Biography
The Dictionary is about people associated with the historic nine counties of Ulster and includes those who were born here, or lived or worked here and who have distinguished themselves in some way. Online successor to 1993 edition published by the Institute of Irish Studies of the Queen's University of Belfast.
Has about half of the Irish subjects covered in the Dictionary of Irish Biography  and only about 30% of these entries fall within the 20th century. 

The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography is the national record of men and women who have shaped British history and culture, worldwide, from the Romans to the 21st century.

The Dictionary offers concise, up-to-date biographies written by named, specialist authors and is updated annually three times.
