For the purposes of the COAL Guide, a case is considered unreported if it does not have a neutral citation (Citation Pattern 1), CanLII citation (Citation Pattern 2), or other source citation (Citation Pattern 3).
Only use the citation guidance for unreported decisions if you can't use any of citation patterns 1-3. When a case is not available electronically, you may have to obtain it directly from the court that handed down the decision.
CITATION ELEMENTS:
Case name (date), | judicial district | docket number | pinpoint if applicable | (jurisdiction and court).
