APA Citation Style

The Faculty of Education generally uses the American Psychology Association style for the formatting of scholarly papers including in-text and reference citations.

We recommend the APA Formatting Style Guide created by Purdue University Library for quick reference when you have questions about how to cite.

logo apa style blogThe APA Style Blog for the 7th edition is a good place to search for the answers to questions about citation formatting.

Can't find an example of the type of reference you need to cite?  The APA recommends you: "choose the example that is most like your source and follow that format" (https://apastyle.apa.org/learn/faqs/example-reference).

APA Citation Examples (using 7th ed.)

Note that reference list entries must have a hanging indent of .5 in. that does not show up in these examples.
