The Canadian Legal Research Manual is a practical guide to legal research. It is created and maintained by the Lederman Law Library at Queen's University. This latest edition was revised in 2024.
The Manual is designed for use by Queen's Law students and so focuses on legal research tools available via the Queen's Library. However, students in other programs, graduates, and other legal researchers may also find it useful.
We highlight publicly available information sources wherever possible.
