This guide highlights case-based learning resources available from QUL, including print and electronic books, videos and multimedia. Choose your specialty to the left or start with the interdisciplinary case files from AccessMedicine below.
In addition to books, videos and other multimedia resources, there are numerous journals devoted to publishing case reports and case studies (a list of examples can be found here), such as BMJ Case Reports. Most of these journals are open access and they include titles in general medicine such as the Journal of Medical Case Reports as well as titles in medical specialties such as Gynecologic Oncology Reports and Human Pathology. A recent article titled "Journals accepting case reports" includes a list of 1028 journals covering 129 specialties that accept case reports.
If you are looking for case reports and case studies that have been published on specific topics, you may find it helpful to search bibliographic databases such as MEDLINE, Embase and CINAHL. Ask a Health Sciences Librarian for help if needed.
