Reading the Web & PDFs

There are apps, software, and browser extensions which can manipulate a web page or document to allow for better readability of the affected page. Some of these options include:

  • Adobe ScanApp for your mobile device to scan documents to PDFs and recognize text. (Free)
  • ClaroReadText to Speech, convert print materials to digital, spellcheck, word prediction. Pairs with Dragon Professional for dictation. (Paid)
  • Dolphin EasyReaderAccess audiobooks and ebooks from participating libraries. Manipulate size, font, and colour of ebook text. Import text to enable text-to-speech on non-library materials. For iOS, Android, Kindle, and Windows. (Free)
  • DuallessSplits the browser window into two with an adjustable ratio, simulating a dual monitor environment. Chrome extension. (Free)
  • JustReadView web articles in a more readable, attractive, and custom format. (Free with paid version)
  • ScannerPro 7iOS app to convert scans to editable text. (Free)
