OFF-CAMPUS & ALUMNI ACCESS

Sign in to our proxy service with your NetID to access our licensed electronic subscriptions from off-campus.

Alumni have access to a selection of e-resources including open access content in our Teacher Guides and Omni and to the databases listed here. If your former Queen's netID is no longer active, go to the Alumni Perks information to activate it.

MEET WITH YOUR EDUCATION LIBRARIAN

Your Education Librarian is available to assist you with your literature searches and to help you get started wtih your research.  Drop in with quick questions or make an appointment to map out a research strategy. We can work together in the Library or via email, chat, Zoom, or Teams.

CITATION MANAGEMENT

Queen's University subscribes to EndNote. The Library's Citation Management Guide explains how to get started with EndNote and other citation management systems.  Ask your Education Librarian if you encounter obstacles and we will search for a solution with you.

Scholarly Publishing Services supports Queen’s research and dissemination priorities through our Journal Hosting Service and by showcasing faculty and student research in QSpace, Queen’s Research Repository. The Queen's University Library provides information on Open Access options for scholars.

Borrow Books

  • 120-day loan for research monographs
  • unlimited number of books
  • no late fees BUT a significant LOST fee is added to your SOLUS accunt for materials 30 days overdue. Use your library account to renew books.

Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements for Queen's researchers

Book Delivery

Book delivery to a library near you

If the item you want is listed in Omni, sign in to Omni and use the Request for Pickup link to request that an item be delivered to your Omni library of choice.  Delivery time is usually 2 -3 days.

If the item is not available at another Omni library we will move your request to Interlibrary Loans.  You will receive an email once the item is available for pick-up.

NEW: If the item you want is not listed in Omni, use the our Interlibrary Loans Blank Request Form.  We work with libraries worldwide to supply the items you request at no charge.

  • Print materials usually arrive within 1-2 weeks; scans are delivered to your email in pdf format within hours or a few days.
  • Check with us first!  We may be able to purchase the title you need. Ebook purchases are often available within minutes.

Need a chapter pdf sent to you?

If you need a scan of a chapter and the book is at Queen's, sign in to Omni and use the Request a Scan option. If the book is not at Queen's use the Get It From Another Library option and check the I only need a specific chapter option. Copyright compliance limits scan requests to 1 chapter or 10 percent of a book.

Other Options

Education graduate students: email us to request book delivery. If an ebook is not feasible we may be able to send you the print book. Include the full citation for the title you need.
